We carry the whole world in our pockets. News, opinions, trends and other people’s highlight reels are only a tap away. It is easy to wake up with a full mind before we have said a word to God.
Romans 12:2 tells us not to conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. In a digital age, that begins with what we feed our minds first.
Try giving your first and last ten minutes of the day to God instead of your phone. Charge the phone across the room, and keep your Bible or a journal by your bed. You will be surprised how much calmer your day feels when it starts with prayer.
Be intentional with what you follow. Mute accounts that stir comparison and follow people who point you to Christ and to wisdom. Take regular breaks from social media, and use that time to call a friend or take a walk.
Technology is not the enemy; it can carry the gospel farther than ever. The goal is not to escape the world but to stay rooted in Christ while we live in it, so that what we post and share comes from a settled heart.
Try this: keep your phone out of reach for the first ten minutes tomorrow and spend them in prayer.
